OSAKA —
An Osaka police officer has been arrested on suspicion of forging a police identification card and selling the forgery for 150,000 yen.
The 53-year-old officer apparently made the forgery for a friend in 2009, TV Asahi reported Thursday. The identification wound up at a police goods surplus store, but the store owner will not face charges, police say.
The officer is under suspicion of selling other forged identifications, as well as his uniform and hat on an online auction.
