“Ichimai no Hagaki” takes grand prize in 66th Mainichi Film Awards

The winners of the 66th Mainichi Film Awards were announced on Tuesday. “Ichimai no Hagaki,” the final film to be directed by 99-year-old filmmaker Shindo Kaneto, earned the Grand Prize, and Moriyama Mirai (27) and Koizumi Kyoko (45) received the honors of Best Actor and Best Actress.

Best Foreign Film: The King’s Speech (Tom Hooper)
Best Director: Tomita Katsuya (Saudade)
Best Screenplay: Shindo Kaneto (Ichimai no Hagaki)
Best Actor: Moriyama Mirai (Moteki)
Best Actress: Koizumi Kyoko (Mainichi Kaasan)
Best Supporting Actor: Denden (Tsumetai Nettaigyo)
Best Supporting Actress: Nagasaku Hiromi (Youkame no Semi)
Sponichi Grand Prix Newcomer Award: Sometani Shota (Usotsuki Mi-kun to Kowareta Ma-chan)
Sponichi Grand Prix Newcomer Award: Kutsuna Shiori (My Back Page)
Kinuyo Tanaka Award: Okusu Michiyo
Best Cinematography: Kita Nobuyasu (Ichimei)
Best Art Direction: Kanakatsu Hirokazu (Ichimai no Hagaki)
Best Music: Hayashi Hikaru (Ichimai no Hagaki)
Best Sound: Ozaki Satoshi (Ichimai no Hagaki)
Best Animated Film: Hotarubi no Mori e (Omori Takahiro)
Ofuji Noburo Award: 663114 (Hirabayashi Isamu)
Best Documentary: Shoji to Takao (Ide Yoko)
Tsutaya Fan Award (Domestic Film): Suteki na Kanashibari (Mitani Koki)

Special Award: title designer Akamatsu Hikozo

The official awards ceremony will be held in Kawasaki on February 13.
