Eight Ferraris, three Mercedes-Benzes and a Lamborghini were involved in a 14-vehicle pileup Sunday on the Chugoku Expressway near Shimonoseki junction in Yamaguchi Prefecture, police said.
Ten people were taken to hospitals after the pileup occurred at about 10:15 a.m., but none of their injuries were serious, according to the expressway traffic unit of the Yamaguchi prefectural police.
Police said the accident took place primarily on the Osaka Prefecture-bound lane, at a point where it curved to the left. However, one Benz involved in the accident was driving in the oncoming lane, they said. A 36-year-old self-employed man from Kanzaki, Saga Prefecture, said he was driving in the opposite lane at the time of the accident.
